On the weekend of the 29th/30th of July Martin Pearcy (SLE Sales Director) and Hetal Patel (SLE Service Manager) took part in the ‘Race for Peace’ organised by the owner of one of our distributors, Mr Mike Sata. We have been supporting Mr Sata’s event for the last 10 years.
Since 1978 Mr Sata has owned and renovated an XI century ruined castle in Burgundy, the Chateau de Chailly, creating a luxury golfing hotel and spa, where the race starts. (Chateau de Chailly).
This year, the popular cycle race was themed to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan. This is the 13th year of the race and is patroned by Tour de France legend Mr Bernard Hinault (5 x winner) (More…) and Italian former world champion Francesco Moser (More…). During the event over 500 riders contest one of three routes of 145, 105 0r 80 km.
All profits from the event go to the promotion of peace and to charities that promote peace.
